Burnishing is the process of smoothing the surface of an object by sliding contact or rubbing with another object. This same process can also be used to remove slight surface rust from a metal part and it also can shine up the part and ultimately improves the finish. Generally speaking the parts to be burnished should be about 12” in length or shorter but literally hundreds of parts can be burnished at the same time depending on size and shape. This is a very cost effective way to clean up parts and remove sharp burrs that may be left from a manufacturing operation.
